The Free Spirit Therapeutic Riding Association and Clannad Counselling & Consulting Inc., through generous funding from Veterans Affairs Canada, are excited to be working together to offer SPIRIT, a program designed to support women Veterans living in the Central and Western Regions of Nova Scotia (Halifax to Digby). We know there are gaps in services directly targeting the unique needs of women Veterans, and we are excited to have collaborated with women Veterans to design this program.
Now, more than ever, we need to reach out and support one another. SPIRIT will provide an opportunity to work with horses, learn from other members of the community through lunch & learns, and share in fun and engaging therapeutic experiences. Participants will have a unique opportunity to connect with other women Veterans in a safe environment while learning new skills, discovering strengths, inspiring one another, and exploring the healing power of relationship.
** No horse experience is necessary and a VAC claim is not required in order to participate.
Registration for September is open! For more information or to register, please get in touch with our Program Coordinator by emailing info@fstra.org or calling 902-670-8402.
