As a comic Jay won the national Homegrown competition at Just For Laughs four years after being dared into doing stand comedy. Since then he’s performed at three Just For Laughs galas, five Halifax Comedy Festivals, shot a critically acclaimed one hour Comedy NOW! special for CTV, his own Showtime Comedy Special “Canadian Bacon” & opened on tour for Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond).

As an actor Jay has appeared on such shows as Monk, NCIS LA & Boston Legal to name a few. In 2012 Jay was cast as the lead in a Conan O’Brien produced sitcom pilot for TBS and then landed the role of Ryan White on the CityTV/Hulu sitcom Package Deal which garnered him a nomination as "Best Supporting Actor" in a television series at the Canadian Screen Awards.
