Ticks vector the widest array of disease-causing organisms of all blood feeding arthropods. The spread of ticks and tick-borne diseases at alarming rate has urged the need to find better pest management tools. To select optimal active ingredients and design proper formulations, it is important to understand how ticks respond to specific chemicals through their chemosensory system, providing important information on mode of action and performance. In this seminar, I will tell you more about attraction and repellency induced by certain chemicals in ticks to avoid the transmission of pathogens.
Consider staying on to continue the discussion after the talk.
