The Divorcees love outlaw country.
They are steeped in the earthy Americana of legends such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
They’re not a modern retelling of that great old traditional outlaw country sound. They are that sound…right down to the old honky tonk piano, backbeat shuffles, jumbo flattop and a twanging tele.
The band is well known internationally as keepers of the outlaw country flame.
These guys aren’t just playing at it. They are outlaw country through and through.
The Divorcees, made up of Alex Madsen, Denis “Turtle” Arsenault, Kevin Macintyre, and Shawn Thomas, have been playing Roadhouse and festival stages alike for 17 years. They have five original albums out with two having won East Coast Music Awards for Country Album Of The Year. Their music has been in television and on film worldwide.
A Divorcees Outlaw Tribute is the closest you can get to the real thing without going back in time to a 4th of July picnic in Texas, 1975 with Willie and the boys lighting it up.
It’s a show that has to be seen and heard to be believed.
