The Acadia University School of Music (AUSOM) invites you to “experience Acadia” by trying out a music class, watching a rehearsal, or even bringing along your own instrument and playing with us on the Festival Theatre stage! We have a lot of pick-your-own adventure options for you to choose from - read all the details below. PLEASE NOTE: You must REGISTER for Experience Acadia Day at https://connect.acadiau.ca/register/ead_2023 to participate.
Keyboard Lab - HDH 234, 1pm-4pm
Observe or participate in aural and oral skill building, rhythm exercises, and body percussion in this first-year core course with Dr. Keech.
Voice Performance Class - HDH 204, 1:15pm-2pm
See what kinds of things singers are learning to do with Dr. Rushton.
Choral Rehearsal - HDH 226, 2pm-3pm
Experience a chamber choir rehearsal with Dr. Boyd and members of the Acadia Singers.
Meet the Director - HDH 227, 2pm-3:30pm
Drop by between 2 and 3:30pm to meet Dr. Rushton (Director) for any follow-up questions.
Another fun option includes having a Mini-Lesson with one of your potential instructors. If interested, please email Dr. Rushton at [email protected] by Friday, March 3 with this request.
