Music Family Friendly Dog Friendly Outdoor Community

We're moving inside today due to the rainy forecast! Join us for great music at the Annex, 2182 Sheffield Rd across from Canning Auto.

The Scot!ables are a songwriters' collective founded in Annapolis Valley. Nova Scotian Songwriters Jade Johnson and Mike Glenn invited longtime friends and collaborators Meegan Lovett, Liam Patterson and Ananda Kavanagh aboard. The band now brings new original music to Annapolis Valley with diverse echoes of flute, mandolin & cello as cargo to songs about living on Canada's Eastern shores.

The band is currently recording their first collection of songs "Country Life", "Speedway" and "I'm Coming Back" with Reuben Gilbert as recording engineer. The band will use these recordings to prepare its first applications for grants and festivals across Eastern Canada in 2023.
The band looks forward to coming out strong with a series of first performances at the Festival Theatre, Paddy's Pub, BFL Ferry and more. Be sure to watch for this eclectic indie-folk group from Wolfville whose songs are meaningful, melodic and simply fun to hear & dance to. So come on and let's get Scot!able.

Jude Pelley was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland, late in 1975; and raised in the rural community of West Dublin, on Nova Scotia's South Shore. He was tremendously inspired by his musical father, Derek Pelley, who played with seminal Canadian folk-rock groups Figgy Duff and Rawlins Cross; he spent his formative years learning the mandolin, playing with Bridgewater's award-winning bluegrass band, Exit 13. Since those days, his musical adventures have included: touring Nova Scotia by bicycle; being a mainstay in Victoria, BC's vibrant professional music scene for 5 years; criss-crossing Canada, usually in vehicles which run on waste vegetable oil, or by train; hosting the Pennybrook Festival in West Dublin, NS; running a small-scale acoustic music recording and production studio, Alone Stone Productions; and dabbling in medieval and early music.

Currently, Jude is in the process of polishing up a long-awaited solo album, due out in the Fall of 2023. His main side project these days is a roots, blues, and Appalachian old-time music duo with fiddler and singer Amy Lounder, called Sloecooker.
