We are hosting a Teen Book Club for ages 13-18 starting on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-7pm until August 29th 2023. Instead of all reading the same book we're encouraging participants to bring in whatever book they're currently reading and meet with their peers to discuss it. Not reading anything? No problem! Join our book club and get recommendations from your peers. At our last meeting we selected themes for the following weeks:
August 1st 2023 - Book Exchange - Give a book and get a book! Bring in a book to give to someone else at the meeting. Everyone will go home with a new-to-them book.
August 8th 2023 - Graphic Novel/Manga/Comic Book themed - our discussion will centre around these types of literature. Bring in your favourite Graphic Novel/Manga/Comic Book. Never read a graphic novel/anime/comic book? No worries, we have a small selection at the library for you to explore.
August 15th 2023 - Come dressed as your favourite Literary Character - bring in the corresponding book and tell us about why you love this character!
August 22nd 2023 - Summerween - Are we celebrating Halloween in the summer? Why yes. Yes we are. Bring in a ghost story to share with the group by flashlight and dress up for Halloween! It will be a frightful affair.
August 29th 2023 - Our Last meeting of the summer will be DND themed. Pick a literary character that you would like to take on an adventure and together we will do a short campaign - no d&d experience necessary.
