Musique Royale presents a province-wide tour of the Celtic band Bùmarang. Comprised of three of Montreal’s finest Celtic musicians: Kate Bevan-Baker (Hey Rosetta!, The Dardanelles), Sarah Pagé (Barr Brothers), and Dave Gossage (Orealis, Land of Kush), Bùmarang draws from their diverse musical backgrounds in jazz, classical, African, bluegrass, and traditional music to create an unforgettable Celtic sound.
Bùmarang is a Montreal-based trio, nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award (2022) – Instrumental Group of the Year. They look like a traditional Celtic band – with the Irish flute, fiddle, and Celtic harp – but their vocals and supporting instruments leave heads spinning (like a boomerang!). This is the new growth on old roots – a modern sound.
