The Acadia University School of Music Concert & Lecture Series presents a performance by Flying Pooka!
Daniel Oore (vox & winds) and Florian Hoefner (piano) unite as Flying Pooka! for an unforgettable musical experience. Their kinship and synergy explodes in exuberant melodious rhythmic improvisations with harmonic sophistication and structural depth. Raw, elegant, bold, fragile …and maybe playful.
Dani, a veteran of the late Jerry Granelli’s groups, and Florian, leading his own Juno-award winning trio, perform across 5 continents collaborating with renowned artists (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Seamus Blake, Julian Priester, Dan Weiss, and Jay Clayton), garnering prizes at the East Coast Music Awards, Juno Awards, Stingray Rising Star Awards, and the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards.
Our AUSOM Concert & Lecture Series events are free and all are welcome to attend – please join us!
Flying Pooka! acknowledges the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
