The Annapolis Valley Honour Choir will sing of transformation, renewal and growth in spring concert, “Ignite”.
Singing songs that celebrate and connect us to the earth and to each other, the sparkling energy of 180 youth will shine bright in this final concert of the season.
The themes of transformation, renewal and growth are especially meaningful for the AVHC this year. A part of the valley’s cultural fabric for over 35 years, the AVHC is almost finished a rebranding process - an opportunity granted to them through funding by the Red Cross Community Fund that has seen them through a year of modernizing, reimagining and planning for the future.
A choir of alumni and parents will join on stage, honouring the AVHC’s past and celebrating this new chapter in their mission to give children and youth extraordinary choral experiences and musical education grounded in community, artistic excellence, and personal growth.
Artistic Director, Heather Fraser, conductor Alana MacPhee and pianist Kimberly Cormier will be joined by guests Tyler MacDonald on percussion, Jenny Melvin, fiddle and Morgan Davison, bodhran.
