Exploring the One-Sheet Wonder: An Afternoon of Artists’ Books with Basma Kavanagh
Taking inspiration from the multi-media works in Becoming Imperceptible/Imperceptibly Becoming which blur the lines between paper and textile and text and art. In this workshop you’ll make a unique, non-adhesive artist’s book from a single folded and cut sheet of paper. Work with paint, pencil, ink, thread, punches, collage, translucence, and opacity to create a fun and highly textured piece. Embellish a non-adhesive cover to protect your project, and try a few writing prompts to deepen your exploration of whatever wondrous topics emerge from this tactile experiment.
