From the award-winning author of Two Crows Sorrow comes another historical true crime story but this time from Bear River.
On an early morning in 1896, Annie Kempton is found murdered in her own home in Bear River. Within the next few hours, Peter Wheeler is charged with the murder and subsequently arrested and later hanged.
Using newspaper articles, and trial transcripts, the true story of the murder of Annie Kempton is retold using creative non-fiction.
Laura Churchill Duke will read from her newly published creative non-fiction novel, Footprints in the Snow, about the trial of Peter Wheeler in the community where the murder took place.
All are welcome.
