All are welcome!
Artist Bio:
Bryson Chisholm is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in the Annapolis Valley, NS. He
attended NSCAD University (BFA 2014) where he worked predominantly in photo and video work. He is the recipient of two Arts Nova Scotia Creation Grants and has contributed several pieces to the Nova Scotia Art Bank. In the past several years he has reconnected with painting and has also found relative interest in building miniatures. Although significantly different in his approach, his artistic practices have gravitated towards similar themes and have acted as a way to preserve and curate the importance of time and place for the artist. He has always been drawn towards deteriorating structures and unsightly pockets among his surroundings, observing how neglected spaces become personalized with shortcuts, forts, graffiti monikers and makeshift benches. He plays off the tension that exists at these locations, a strange back and forth relationship between what is being added and taken away.
