Saturday October 19, 2024 1pm - 2:30pm (1 Hour 30 Minutes)
Literary Fundraiser / Charity Community Event Family-Friendly
Join local author Heidi Tattrie Rushton for a reading and signing of her middle-grade novel, Pet Tales! Set in October in Kentville, the story follows eleven-year-old Penny, who struggles with anxiety and finds solace writing about the pets at the local animal shelter where she volunteers. When she learns the shelter is in danger of closing, Penny discovers she might have the power to help save it. This heartwarming tale explores themes of friendship, courage, and the healing bond between kids and animals.
This special event will also feature a supply drive for the shelter, so donations are welcome, but not required. Rumour has it there might even be rescue puppies on site! Drop by to support a great cause!
