After another successful year of membership growth and well-attended monthly meetings, we are preparing to host our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at The Royal Canadian Legion, Wolfville. The evening includes networking, snacks and a guest speaker.
In 2024, we got to meet new members and discover the talents and services they offer. Our Afternoon Tea fundraiser in June was a delicious success, and we're planning to host another one in 2025. We continued supporting women entrepreneurs in developing countries through Kiva micro-lending, and we took the first steps to expand our bursary support to include Acadia University as well as NSCC. We also began planning to celebrate our 25th anniversary this October!
The AGM business part of the meeting will be reasonably brief. Executive members will report on the year’s activities, and we will elect new Directors to fill vacancies on the Executive team. If you are a VWBN member or about to join, please consider putting your name forward for one of the open positions. To find out what these are, and to learn what they do, please contact any member of our Executive team.
Following the business portion of the evening, we’ll welcome VWBN Past President Sharon Cochrane, a lawyer with Kimball Law in Wolfville and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Chrysalis House Association. Sharon will speak to us about the important work of Chrysalis House in our community.
We will also be collecting donations to Chrysalis House at the meeting. Thank you in advance if you're able to contribute in this way.
Come and see behind the scenes how VWBN fulfills its mission to support, educate and promote women in business. This is also your chance to become more involved by joining the Executive or a committee. Or simply to network.
