Karst Landscape: A Journey Through Home / Lufei Pan
February 15 - March 29, ARTSPLACE Chapel Gallery
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
"In my artistic practice, I seek to navigate the complex themes of migration, identity, and belonging through the lens of my personal journey as a self-taught artist. Originally from southern China and now based in Canada, my work reflects a rich tapestry of emotions and memories, intricately woven together through
vibrant mixed media.
Ultimately, my art is a tribute to the strength found in transitions—the moments of vulnerability and resilience that shape who we are. I invite you to join me in this exploration of identity and belonging, as we reflect on our own journeys and the collective narratives that unite us all.
Since moving to Canada in 2021, I have been deeply inspired by the landscapes and cultural diversity of my new home. This transition has prompted me to explore the interplay between the memories of my past and the realities of my present. Each piece I create is a reflection of this journey, capturing the nuances of adaptation and the beauty found in both nostalgia and discovery.
Lufei Pan is an innovative artist whose work transcends traditional boundaries through the vibrant use of acrylics, ink, pastels, and textured mediums. Drawing deeply from her Chinese heritage and enriched by her travel adventures, Lufei’s art reflects her life experiences, including the challenges and traumas that have shaped her perspective."
