The Academy Award winning classic 1942 film Casablanca in 4k on the big screen

About the live on stage portion of the night: Before the film begins, step into the world of 1942 with your musical host, Gregory Muszkie, who will take us on a lively and immersive journey exploring the timeless soundscape of Casablanca—from the jazz-infused rhythms of the era to the nostalgic power of As Time Goes By. Through music, humour, and history, we’ll dive into how film scores shaped emotions, how jazz defined Hollywood, and why nostalgia makes certain songs feel like they’ve always been with us. Whether you’ve seen Casablanca a dozen times or have never seen it at all, Gregory’s mini-show promises to enrich your experience with laughter, insight—and of course, music!

About the Movie: Academy Award winners Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman light up the screen in one of the most enduring romances in movie history–Casablanca. Rick Blaine (Bogart–The African Queen, The Caine Mutiny) owns a nightclub in Vichy-controlled Casablanca, frequented by refugees desperate to escape German domination. Despite the ever-present human misery, Rick manages to remain uninvolved in World War II now raging across Europe and Northern Africa. But all that changes when Ilsa Lund (Bergman–Gaslight, Notorious) walks through the front door of Rick’s club–Rick must now choose between a life with the woman he loves and becoming the hero that both she and the world need.

About Gregory: Gregory Muszkie is a Graduate of Voice from the university of Regina, Saskatchewan. He is currently the House Manager of King’s Theatre and a musician/performer of diverse talents. He has been featured in King’s Theatre stage productions such as The Greg Show, Young Company Productions’ Broadway Bound, Dany Rousseau’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Scrappy Lady Productions’ Dracula, King’s Summer Lovin’ Cabaret, and much more.
