Come join Prismatic for a one time opportunity to see "Sorry For Your Loss" by international Maōri (New Zealand) artist in Wolfville!
A heartfelt and hilarious story about growing up on the mean streets of Aotearoa (New Zealand) with a sometimes-there-mostly-not Dad. Cian Parker shares her story about reclaiming her heritage when she is unexpectedly introduced to a father and a family she didn’t know existed.
She has teamed up with director and dramaturg Laura Haughey who brings her unique physical approach to storytelling in this vibrant, award-winning piece of devised theatre.
Cian Parker (Ngāpuhi) is an award-winning performer, writer, and theatre maker. She graduated from the University of Waikato in 2018 and has toured her original work extensively. Her accolades include the Ngā Manu Pīrere award at the 2019 Te Waka Toi Awards and the 2020 New Zealand Fringe ‘Most Promising Emerging Artist’ award. She received the 2021 Wellington Theatre ‘New Playwright Award’ and a Springboard Award from The Arts Foundation. Recently, Cian worked as the Company Producer for Aotearoa’s first Deaf and hearing theatre company and co-devised their latest bilingual show Where Our Shadows Meet. Roaming Cloud Creative’s second work, All I See, toured the UK and Serbia where Cian and her cast mate were the first Māori to perform at the National Theatre in Belgrade, Serbia.
