FROM MY LAND, FROM MY HANDS | Shauna MacLeod
November 29 - December 20
Opening Reception: Sat Nov 29, 12-2pm
Everyone Welcome - Light refreshments
A series of earthenware vessels created in quiet collaboration between clay and fibres sustainably gathered from the artist's own land, and the gardens and yards of friends and family.
These works carry memory, place, and resilience, reflecting a deep respect for the natural cycles that shape the land and the self.
This body of work was developed during a six-week residency at Cape Breton Highlands National Park through the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design. This unique opportunity to expand a dialogue between cultivated material and wild landscape allowed MacLeod to explore form, texture and the language of craft.
