Event in Room: Studio-Z
Ingrid Gatin is touring across Canada in support of her newest full-length release 1000 Lives with Montréal-based looping project Twin Voices. The duo create indie-folk magic on-stage with collaborations for many of the tracks from Ingrid’s new album and Twin Voices newest EP, live-looping guitar, violin and ethereal vocals, with accordion, piano, soul-style vocals and harmonies.
Ingrid’s new full-length album, 1000 Lives, was created with Grammy-nominated engineer/producer Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Basia Bulat, The Dears) between a loft and a church in Winnipeg and Howard’s studio in Montréal. Released February 2013 on Pipe & Hat.
About Ingrid Gatin
Ingrid Gatin creates soundscapes and dreamscapes, pulling the listener into her reveries with her soulful and sultry voice. You can hear strains of ‘70s soul in the air and hints of Balkan bravado, but through it all, Ingrid evokes emotion, longing, and romance in every song.
Born and raised on the Canadian prairies, dramatic landscapes and endless skies have fed Ingrid’s imagination since she was a child. She credits her innovation to piano lessons in her aunt’s home at four years old, to the wildness of surrounding nature, to small towns, and swings.

About Twin Voices
Twin Voices is an indie folk project with roots in the Ottawa Valley and wings in Montreal. Lead member Laura Beach crafts a dark and lovely sound with imagery that draws on a life lived between small towns and cityscapes. Live-looping of violin, voice and guitar make for a performance that is equal parts stunning simplicity and playful complexity.
