Will Ferrell stars as Buddy in this cute and wacky Christmas movie about a child raised as an elf at the North Pole at Santa's workshop. After he grows to be twice the size of the other elves, he finds out that his biological father (James Caan) lives in New York City. With his child like innocence, Buddy sets out on a long journey to find his father, and when he does, his father is like Scrooge and his stepbrother (Daniel Tay) doesn't believe in Santa. Buddy can't understand why his new family and the people of New York City have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. Buddy works to bring back the Christmas spirit. Buddy helps his brother win a snowball fight against some bullies in Central Park, and they become true brothers. Next, he decorates the Santa Claus room at Gimbel's and meets a beautiful girl (Zooey Deschanel). The Christmas spirit returns to New York City when everybody sings a Christmas song in Central Park.
