London, 1962: Teenagers Ginger (Elle Fanning) and Rosa (Alice Englert) are inseparable. They skip school; discuss religion, politics and hairstyles; dream of lives bigger than their mothers' frustrated domesticity. But as the Cold War meets the sexual revolution, their lifelong friendship is threatened. “Ms. Fanning shows a nearly Streepian mixture of poise, intensity and technical precision. It is frightening how good she is. . .” A. O. Scott, The New York Times
