The RCMP Kings County Domestic Violence Program is hosting the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada to present "Ghosts of Violence".
A landmark production, conceived and choreographed by Company Artistic Director and choreographer Igor Dobrovolskiy, the ballet is the result of a creative collaboration between Dobrovolskiy and Canadian theatre icon Sharon Pollock.
A showcase for the artistry and versatility of the critically acclaimed dancers of the Company, Ghosts of Violence is an emotionally charged work inspired by the lives of women who have lost their lives at the hands of an intimate partner. It is an innovative and poignant call for awareness, understanding and action.
Through evocative lighting, theatre, music and multi-media, the ballet captures the memory of these silent victims and tells stories of their struggles, their hopes, their joys and our loss.
We are pleased to bring this seminal work to life, pioneering a new approach to building a broad based public awareness about this issue that reaches out to communities large and small across the country.
Tickets must be obtained in advance.
