This is the story of the burgeoning independence of a musically gifted young woman with Williams syndrome, a genetic condition marked by developmental delays and strong social personalities. The film chronicles her life and her growing romantic relationship with a boy at a day centre as their choir prepares for a big concert. Canada’s official submission (2014 Best Foreign Language Oscar) from the team of Incendies and Monsieur Lazhar, Louise Archambault’s latest film shows that we are all different and, in the end, the same—we all want to be loved. It also features a cameo appearance by well-known Québec singer Robert Charlebois, whose music is a part of the score.
