With exclusive interviews and unprecedented access to courtroom footage, this documentary filmed over the course of six months tells the story of three young women who faced seven years in a Russian prison for a satirical performance in a Moscow cathedral. As members of the feminist art collectivee Pussy Riot, Nadia, Masha and Katia were arrested and tried for trespassing, wearing “inappropriate” sleeveless dresses and disrupting social order. In addition, they were accused of religious hatred in a trial that reverberated around the world and transformed the face of Russian society.
