From Spike Jonze comes an original love story set slightly in the future, that explores the evolving nature —and the risks—of intimacy in the modern world. It follows Theodore (Joaquim Phoenix) a complex, soulful man in the business of writing touching, personal letters for people. Heartbroken at the end of a long relationship, he can’t seem to move on, something he discusses with long-time platonic friend, Amy (Amy Adams), until he installs a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be individual to each user. His life takes a turn when he meets "Samantha," a bright, female voice (Scarlett Johansson), who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny.
