Mi’kmaq artist George Goodin has been designing, making and teaching traditional native basketry for years. He’ll be working outside at ARTsPLACE to demonstrate how wood is pounded out into layers to make the strips of wood used in weaving baskets, knapsacks and fishing kreels of all shapes and sizes. George will explain the entire basket making process and help visitor try their hand at the various stages.
