Making the case again that a song can save your life, Once director John Carney’s new music drama depicts a serendipitous meeting in the East Village of Manhattan between a disgraced music business executive (Mark Ruffalo) and a young, singer-songwriter (Keira Knightly). From this chance encounter emerges an enchanting portrait of a mutually transformative collaboration, set to the soundtrack of a summer in the Big Apple.
