Michel Poulette’s award-winning historic romance is set in Canada pre-European contact. Mortal enemies 600 years ago, the Innu tribe and the Inuit are featured in this tale based on Dominique Demers’s novel. Maïna, daughter of the Innu Grand Chief is captured by Inuit clan leader Natak, and forced to travel to “the Land of Ice.” Born enemies, Maïna and Natak struggle to forge a relationship against the odds of cultural difference and daily survival.
