Humour, intelligence and sensitivity tackle weighty issues as John Michael McDonough returns with a superbly written, darkly funny and powerfully moving mystery set in a sleepy coastal Irish village. Father James (Brendan Gleeson in a brilliant performance) is a good priest facing sinister and troubling circumstances from a mysterious parish member. While comforting his daughter and reaching out to church members with their scurrilous moral, often comic issues, he feels evil forces closing in.
