One of Shakespeare’s most loved plays is given the Julie Taymor treatment. That means that in addition to the original “giddy romance, comical misunderstandings, slapstick, bewitching fairy mischief, witty wordplay and irresistible hambone shtick”, we get the director’s “deliriously beautiful, deeply magical” production. Taymor is responsible for the look of Broadway’s The Lion King, not to mention the controversial Spiderman musical, so you have a treat in store.
