ART FORT! is an installation of artwork produced by grade 3 and 4 students at École Joseph Dugas in Clare, NS in response to Parks Canada’s Fort Anne Heritage Tapestry, which was designed by Kyoko Grenier-Sago.
Guided by artist Jay Leblanc, the students used weaving, drawing, painting, printmaking and collage to depict aspects of daily life both historical and present day. They were inspired by the four centuries of local history portrayed in the Tapestry as well as their own history within that context.
This exhibition was made possible through the AGNS ArtsSmarts Nova Scotia program with the generous support of Arts Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Department of Education, in conjunction with Parks Canada.
Images: Installation, windmills and Aboiteau.
The installation runs from June 12-14th and there is an opening on June 14th from 12-2
