Mi’kmaq Artist and Basket Maker George will start the next round of the ARTs a’ la cARTe featured artist series. George has been designing, making and teaching traditional; native basketry for years. He will be working outside at ARTsPLACE to demonstrate how wood is pounded out into layers to make the strips of wood used in weaving baskets, knapsacks and fishing kreels of all shapes and sizes. George will explain the entire basket making process and help visitors try their hand at the various stages.
