Dance
Halifax dancer and choreographer, Gwen Noah, has matured into a dedicated and magnetic solo performer after ten years spent honing her craft. Each new work is a true original, reflecting Noah's personal warmth, and robust physicality. With forty choreographies under her belt, plus nine home seasons of her own work shared with the public, Noah has become a force to be reckoned with on both the East Coast and national dance scenes.
As part of it's 20th season, Gwen Noah Dance is touring the production of The Door Series: an entrance into the world of Contemporary dance and music. This intimate performance series features dancer/choreographer Gwen Noah, cellist, Norman Adams, and/or guitarist Jeff Torbert.
This performance series enables the audience to be exposed to contemporary dance and music simultaneously. These concerts are forty-five minutes in length, followed by an informal discussion with the audience. The discussion provides an opportunity to answer questions about contemporary art, the creation process, the marriage of music and dance, the relationship between two performing artists, and specifically the art of improvisation and it's relevance to the performing arts.
