Carole Glasser Langille is the author of four books of poetry, two collections of short stories, and two children's books. She has been nominated for The Governor General's Award, The Atlantic Poetry Prize, and, for her recent collection of short stories, The Alistair MacLeod Award for Short Fiction. This year she is Artist/Writer in Residence at the Dalhousie Medical School. She teaches creative writing at Dalhousie University.

Carole will read a selection of recent poems and a brief section from a new collection of short stories, I Am What I Am Because You Are What You Are.


Kris Bertin is a writer from Halifax, NS, with work featured in The Walrus, The Malahat Review, TNQ, PRISM International, and many others. He is a two-time winner of the Jack Hodgins Founders’ Award for Fiction and has had his work anthologized in The Journey Prize Anthology. His first book of short stories, entitled Bad Things Happen, is published by Biblioasis.
Kris will read excerpts from Bad Things Happen.
