Each time they meet, the artists have only a few days ahead to set up a production of nearly eighty minutes. Each time, the resulting production should highlight the proximity of Irish and Quebecois traditional cultures, while proposing a new aesthetics and a new vision of folklore merging both tradition and contemporary life.

From this collaboration emerged an enthralling, highly energetic production, at the crossroad of modernity and tradition, already presented in Carrick-on-Shannon, Letterkenny, Castlebar, Limerick, Dublin and now touring Canada.

[ZØGMA] is a professional percussive dance company, performing on the national and international scenes since 2001. The company supports the creativity of choreographers who, inspired by elements of the country’s heritage and cultural diversity found in urban areas, pro- pose a contemporary approach and a new aesthetic of Québec’s folklore, merging dance, music and song into powerful, rhythmic works.

[ZØGMA] now has several productions to his credit : Chantier (2003), Zó (2004 and 2010), Rapaillé (2008), Sokalo (2012), Sens (2013) and Cube (2015), as well as Hypertension (2005), R (2014) and several short pieces created for Canadian dance and theater companies.

The creative staff of [ZØGMA] his currently working on a new production that will be launched in 2015 as well as a new unifying project to be introduced in 2016.
