The happy, comfortable lives of Bobbie, Peter & Phyllis in Edwardian London are shattered when their beloved Father goes away unexpectedly with two strangers. Moving to a simple country cottage with their Mother, they befriend Perks, the local railway porter, and wave each day to The Old Gentleman as his train passes their new home. Amidst their many adventures they continue to wonder – where is Father, and will he ever return?
First published in 1905, E. Nesbit’s classic story has brought pleasure to generations of readers, whilst movie, screen, radio and stage adaptations have captivated countless audiences through the years. Now brought to King’s Theatre by the Annapolis District Drama Group, with a brand-new script written specifically for our stage incorporating innovative set-design and iconic musical composition, we are certain that this well-loved tale will continue to delight children, parents and grandparents alike.
