Director Jon Amiel (The Singing Detective) and writer John Collee (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) offer the psychological, heart-wrenching love story of Charles Darwin (Paul Bettany) based on the biography Annie’s Box, which drew from Darwin family letters and diaries. The biopic takes a unique and inside look at Darwin, his family and his love for his deeply religious wife (Jennifer Connelly), as, torn between faith and science, he struggles to finish his legendary On the Origin of Species, which became the foundation for evolutionary biology.
