The transcendent beauty of the music of Whitacre, Esenvalds, Arnesen. The belted humanness of the words of Sara Teasdale. The mystery of some of the world’s oldest sacred texts – in Gustav Holst’s Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda for Women’s voices and Harp
Ancient echoes of a young mother – the mother of God
Magnificat, by Christine Donkin
And eternal words of hope written on the wall by an unknown concentration camp prisoner; I believe in the sun, even when it’s not shining. I believe in love.
Join us for “Mirror of the Heart” a concert of profoundly beautiful music sung by the women of the Manning Chapel Choir, with guests Ellen Gibling, harp; and Kay Green, oboe and English horn, directed by John Scott.
