KING’S SHORTS 12th Annual Festival of Ten Minute Plays
Plays, Playwrights and Directors Announced
The King’s Shorts announces the names of the eight plays, playwrights and directors selected for the 2018 Festival. From the 93 submissions, the reading committee narrowed it down to the final eight:
- After Her by Elizabeth Suzanne Hofeld, Los Angeles, CA, directed by Carolyn Crowell
- Annapolis Royale, by John MacEachern, Middleton, NS, directed by Dawn Scott
- Couples Therapy, by Charles Salmon, Halifax, NS, directed by Wayne Currie
- Equal Opportunity by Marsha Roberts, San Francisco, CA, directed by Kelley Pozzolo
- Foolproof by Sue Higgs, Eastern Shore, NS, directed by Margaret Gray
- Hints and Allegations by Sid Filkow, Saltspring Island, BC, directed by Nancie McKinnon
- Memories in the Park by Aaron LeBlanc, Ottawa, ON, directed by Dessie Howard
- The Order of Good Cheer by Glenna Prime and Jim Prime, New Minas, NS, directed by Verilea Ellis.
King’s Shorts long on applause and laughter …
- The King’s Shorts weekend is always a high point for Annapolis Royal, with many locals and visitors enjoying themselves and participating in local community theatre. Started as a theatrical experiment in 2007, the festival has become a fixture in the cultural life of the Annapolis Valley, attracting 93 scripts for 2017 from around the world.
