"Sounds of Spring"

The Annapolis Basin Community Band, a talented and dedicated potpourri of young and old, experienced and less experienced, amateur and semi-professional, with a smattering of professional players, will spin their home-grown musical magic.

The Band performed most recently at the 300th anniversary celebration of Annapolis Royal’s St. Luke’s Anglican Church where they performed Ron MacKay’s Annapolis Royal Suite. This magnificent work was well received and will be offered again in its entirety at the King’s concert. Jolene Buchholz, band director, noted that the Suite will be recorded during the Theatre performance and entered in the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award.

Since its reestablishment in 1992, the Band has built a substantial and eclectic repertoire and will demonstrate that versatility with musical offerings from Mozart’s melancholy Ave Verum Corpus to F.E. Bigelow’s rousing March, Our Director
