In this double bill concert, Luke and Ian, accompanied by a full band, will perform individually from their own collections and will share the stage for a couple of brand-new co-writes.
Ian Sherwood is well known and loved in East Coast folk/blues circuits while Luke McMaster has has more mainstream success with radio hits like Good Morning Beautiful (#3 US Billboard AC). When the pair got together to do some co-writing, it didn’t take long to discover that what they do have is a shared love of early Motown music.
Formerly one half of Gold-selling Canadian duo McMaster & James, award-winning singer-songwriter Luke McMaster has shared the stage with the likes of Randy Bachman, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and more. An in-demand songwriter with multiple credits and collaborations with such global superstars as Rihanna and soul music icons like Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals, McMaster’s first love has always been singing, performing and connecting with his audience. His diverse music ranges from pop and R&B to blue-eyed soul and jazz.
Halifax-based singer-songwriter Ian Sherwood is a rising star in Canada’s folk-pop scene. A musician, storyteller and constant creator, Sherwood has released five studio albums. His latest, Bring the Light, is chock-full of instantly appealing hooks and singable choruses, featuring his signature style of imaginative narrative lyrics. A Canadian Folk Music Award-winning artist, Sherwood’s live performance thrives on intimacy. From theatre shows to large festival stages across the UK, US and Canada, his persona is irresistible and completely destroys the fourth wall.
