Making Local History Come Alive Through Theatre
August 24 – 28, 2010

Come along to King’s Theatre for this energizing end to your Summer! Stir up your creativity on stage with other actors ages 9–16. The goal is a play, costumed and delivered with fresh style, both in Street Theatre and on stage.

This will be 5 exciting days creating a completely original play. We will explore choral speaking, dramatic storytelling, and pantomime as we build a show that shakes the dust off odd bits of local history. Your energy, sound effects, music and props will make a memorable tale for the stage. No experience is necessary as returning actors welcome newcomers and their ideas. Individual artistic expression is encouraged, as we build excitement through team spirit.

Productions launched in Summers past include…
2005 - It’s French versus English - A century of football games of power in Annapolis Royal
2006 – A Tale of a Tale – L’Escarbot’s Theatre of Neptune
2007 – Slipstream – The perilous ride on the Underground Railroad to Canada
2008 – The Long Low Black Schooner – The Birchtown NS and Sierra Leone connection
2009 – Before Parchment and Pens –Tales from Atlantic Canada’s Native People
