All are welcome for the official book launch for Brenda Thompson’s new book “Finding Fortune: Documenting and Imagining the life of Rose Fortune (1774-1864)”. Hosted by The Historical Association of Annapolis Royal as part of their 100th Anniversary celebrations, come discover fascinating new details about the life of one of the town’s most legendary historical figures.

A daughter of runaway slaves, a Black Loyalist, the First Black Police Officer, business woman and friend of Thomas Chandler Haliburton, Rose Fortune was an amazing woman who lived in Annapolis Royal and became a legend known across Canada.

The Event is free and open to all. Expected to run from 1-3pm, it will include author readings and Q&A discussion.
