Home to the only summer contemporary dance festival in Nova Scotia, FODAR is ranked as one of the major dance festivals in the country. PROGRAM 2
SONDERLING – Created and performed by Lydia Zimmer
Inspired by an Irish rhyme from the1700s.“When does the methodical and organized become a form of derangement? How do our actions accumulate over a lifetime?”
TAKING BREATH – Created and performed by Naishi Wang
Our air is precious. Inhale and exhale. A promise of contact and communication. Wang is a buoyant force, creating rolling movement and sharp sound.
UNMOORED – Peggy Baker
Choreography: Sarah Chase
A luminous and searing work of text and motion that addresses themes of love, disability, caregiving and death. “Peggy… knows how to play up against contemporary orthodoxy and turn it on its head. It’s why she is a great artist.” Mikhail Baryshnikov
