In this lecture, I will review how universities have changed from being places where all ideas can be discussed and debated to places where only a limited set of ideas can be exchanged so that students can feel "safe" in the classroom.
I will then review recent cases that have transpired in Canada (including my own battle with my union and Acadia University) and the implications of these cases for our democracy.
