There is surely no other country that sentimentalizes the idea of family so fervently as America, and nowhere that's bred so many playwrights to prove the romantics wrong. In AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY the disappearance of Beverly Weston brings his 3 daughters scurrying back to the family home in Oklahoma. Playwright Tracy Letts piles on both the agonies and the laughs. There's always another revelation as the mood changes from farce to tragedy and back again.
