Presented as part of the Sisters On Screen Film Festival, "Sister Act" is the fictional story of a lounge singer on the run from the mob who finds sanctuary in a convent. When she takes over the choir, though, life in the convent ceases to be quiet!

Deloris Van Cartier may be fictional, but she's not the first musical nun in history to defy convention.

The Sisters On Screen Film Festival is a class project organized by the students of MUSI 4283 (Women in Music). The film will begin with a pre-screening talk. Donations raised will be put toward a scholarship to support a young girl's music education.

This event is sponsored by the Acadia School of Music, the Acadia Women's & Gender Studies Program, and the College Music Society.
