Program 2 presents a standout collection of works from new age to contemporary classic which includes a FODAR all-time favourite "Dancing in the Third Act". The collection also marks the World premiere of Lydia Zimmer’s haunting and mystical solo piece. Zimmer builds on a movement language explored in her recent choreographed work “Extremophiles”. The multi-faceted Philip McDermott performs in a FODAR remount of David Earle’s iconic piece ‘Yesterday’.
FODAR brings back the production that started it all. The Company of Angels returns in "Dancing in the Third Act". Choreographed by Randy Glynn, this powerful and thoroughly engaging work was a hit with critics and audiences alike and toured to other Canadian dance festivals. Working with dancers ranging in age from over 65 to 80+, Glynn has created a poignant, dramatic and whimsical look at the ups and downs (literally) of aging.
