The Annapolis District Drama Group is back on stage!!
Having taken, of necessity, a sojourn into page-to-screen screenplay productions over the past 18 months of pandemic, the time now seems right for us to be able to venture back onto the boards of King’s Theatre. Carefully, and with an abundance of caution, just as we have right through these trying times.
And for our inspiration we needed to look no further than the Complete Works of our much esteemed home-grown Bard, Wayne Currie, whose anthology of Short Plays, eponymously entitled “A Dash of Currie”, furnished us with all the scripts for this production.
When the Call for Actors went out we had envisioned that six 10-minute plays would be performed. Such was the enthusiasm and willingness of our troupe to be involved that we found we had to ‘stretch the envelope’, and so we bring to you SEVEN plays instead!
And with the influx of new folks moving to the area over the past months we are delighted to welcome new faces to our Cast, who are thrilled to be bringing their skills and experience to our local stage, acting alongside many of our familiar and much-loved regulars.
With Simon Bonnington at the helm as Producer/Director, and an innovative minimalist set that utilises King’s Theatre’s brand-new stage-technology, we have a show that’s filled to the brim with mirth & hilarity, as well as some thought-provoking moments, prompting you to ponder what is really important in life…
